This Wednesday, Sarah (our Founder and CPO) and Brendan (CEO) were invited to attend a networking event with the rest of the LDC’s Top 50 Business Leaders – an evening dedicated to good food, good company, and exceptional talent.

Supported by The Times and now in its fourth year, the LDC’s Top 50 programme celebrates the inspiring leaders behind some of the UK’s most successful and fast-growing medium-sized firms. Despite the challenges of the last 18 months, the Top 50 received more than 600 nominations, with nominees hailing from every corner of the country, operating across a diverse range of sectors.

Reflecting on the LDC’s Top 50 Business Leaders for 2021, John Garner, Head of New Business at LDC, shared:

“It has been a difficult year, yet this has not subdued the dynamism and entrepreneurialism of these leaders. To be growing, adapting, and continuing to spot opportunities in the midst of a global pandemic is a testament to their talent.”

The networking event consisted of a small, intimate sit-down meal at the sleek Crafthouse in Leeds. A modern restaurant with an industrial feel, serving traditionally British meals alongside an enticing drinks selection.

Discussing the event, and the opportunity to network with other ambitious business owners, Brendan shared:

“The LDC hosted an evening that inspired insightful conversations and the sharing of knowledge. It was great to hear about the varied communities that are positively influenced by the work of these businesses. As business owners, it’s imperative we continue to challenge ourselves, our team, and the ways in which we work, otherwise it becomes difficult to maintain that momentum, evolve, and continue changing these systems for the better.”

The full list of the LDC’s Top 50 Business Leaders for 2021 is made up of an eclectic group of entrepreneurs, showcasing the true extent of the UK’s talent pool. Ultimately, the first-place prize went to 8 truly unique businesses, including Oddbox, Equality Solutions, Transmission, Trinny London, Circular Computing, ScrumConnect, Teemill and EndoMag.
