Ability Community Transport provides transport services to connect isolated rural areas that have been neglected by the wider transport network.
We spoke to Nigel Hinch, Founder at the social enterprise to discuss how the 365 Flexiroute system enables them to plan the most efficient routes based on demand, keeping track of all passengers and their individual needs.
Nigel discussed the importance of safeguarding and protecting the sensitive passenger information that is needed when providing the service.
He commented, “It is alarming that other organisations print off run sheets, post them out and send them via email to their drivers. The opportunity for highly sensitive information to go missing or get into the wrong hands is a chance we are not willing to take.”
Continuing to explain the issues with physical copies of sensitive information, Nigel commented “we wanted to prevent these breaches – especially for our elderly and vulnerable passengers. With 365 Flexiroute, everything that our drivers need can be done within the Driver App. There is no requirement for printed information that can be lost or become inaccurate when changes are made.”
This case study gives great insight into how to truly make an impact and use technology to support your community transport service. We’re grateful to Nigel for sharing with us and hope you enjoy reading the Ability Transport Case Study Here.
