At 365 Response we champion gender equality and diversity across the whole team, but especially with women in STEM, which is why it is important for us to acknowledge an exciting new promotion. Melissa Segula joined us just under three years ago, in the role of Senior Developer. In that time, Melissa has made great strides in our software and has developed both personally and professionally. As part of our recent growth strategy, we are keen to ensure we have significant ‘talent density’ within our expanding business, and this begins by investing in our people.

As a female-led organisation, we are keen to propel talented women in STEM forward, in order to change the statistic that senior tech roles have a 75% male representation. As we build on our success and make plans to grow into the next phase of development, we were delighted to promote Melissa into the role of Head of Development.

George Apostolakis, Director of Product Development shared:

On top of her exceptional talent as a senior developer, Mel is meticulous and very organised, while at the same time, she has great practical and innovative ideas. We are proud to have a client-centric, business-driven technologist who inspires the team, as well as being a team player.

Following this promotion, Melissa will now lead a talented team of developers, working hard to achieve our company goal of making difficult transport easy. We do this through innovative technology, which means constantly learning and adapting to the ever-changing tech landscape.

Melissa commented on her work at 365 Response and taking this important step in her career, sharing, “I was delighted and incredibly grateful to receive this promotion. As the company moves forward, grows, and takes on new challenges, I am excited about the opportunity to grow and develop my career alongside everyone. I have always worked hard for the company, and it feels great to be rewarded for that.” She continued:

As part of my role, I plan to improve the way we work and bring in more industry best practices to make the overall team more effective. Over the years there has been a push for women in STEM and I am pleased to be a part of a company that recognises that this is important. I would love to see more women as part of the Development team and look forward to working alongside some in the near future.

Sarah Fatchett, CEO & Founder at 365 Response was recently recognised in the FDM everywoman in Tech Awards and was invited to speak as part of a female ‘Tech for Good’ panel. Having not always been offered the same opportunities as her male counterparts, it was important for Sarah to start an organisation that helps women to succeed.

“I am a firm believer in giving a ‘step-up’ wherever possible, for everyone in an organisation. Raising a daughter studying STEM subjects has made me acutely aware that we still have a long way to go in terms of gender equality. There is simply no excuse for a lack of diversity in our technology-driven business.”

She continued, “I am immensely proud to have a female Head of Development and I know that Melissa will be an excellent leader and role model for many women and men. I am excited to see how she progresses and contributes to our future success.”
