Throughout March, 365 Response has pledged itself to take part in the Martin House Accumulator Challenge, to turn £30 into £3000 by the end of the month. Martin House is a registered charity and hospice that caters to the needs of children and young people with life-limiting conditions. Their work is challenging, but they continue to provide dedication, endless care and support for those who access their services.

Our company values are at the heart of everything we do. These guiding principles encourage every member of 365 Response to contribute to creating valuable and lasting change for those that need it most. This goes beyond our software for services like Home to School Transport for those with special educational needs, or providing mental health transport support for Trusts like Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.

As a business, it is our mission to help support vulnerable people by improving access to difficult transport, and we also have team members and families who have needed access to similar charity services before. Being able to commit to Martin House as our fundraising partner has been very close to our hearts, as well as our core values.

The Power of Donations

The donations received throughout the year provide such immense support to this organisation and the children who receive care via the hospice. To put it into perspective:

  • £5 – This could pay for a 10 minute phone call with a Care Team Specialist in the middle of the night, for a parent who needs some reassurance from a medical professional who truly knows their child.
  • £10 – This could buy a box of PPE gloves. These are an essential part of any personal care we provide at the hospice to help keep our children healthy and happy for as long as possible.
  • £20 – This amount could purchase 5 cannulas for the hospice. A cannula is a small, flexible tube inserted into the vein which allows for medication and/or fluids to enter the blood stream directly. These are a critical part of pain relief and symptom control. The use of a cannula helps children, and their families avoid the pain and discomfort of regular injections and interrupted sleep.

It currently costs Martin House £117 per day to provide their music therapy services, which means that if we achieve the £3000 goal before the end of March then we can cover this cost for the hospice for over 25 days. Music therapy is hugely vital there, especially for a small child with extremely complex needs who is rapidly losing sensory skills. Their limitations in outlets and expressions can result in a child feeling frustrated and unheard, exacerbating the common feeling of isolation.

Our Fundraising Events

Our fundraising efforts needed to look a little different due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, so the team have collectively organised both internal and external virtual events to help us reach our goal. So far, the team have created an Easter hamper raffle prize consisting of lots of delicious treats and we have a “Name the Service User” challenge. We’re a sociable and musical bunch at 365 Response, so we also plan to have a virtual ‘gig’ and we’ve even considered some virtual gaming sessions! Keep an eye on our social media to see how we’re working to hit that £3000 target. It has been great to see the dedication from the 365 Response team, and we anticipate many more fundraising activities throughout 2021.

Do Something Good Every Day

Don’t forget that 365 Response has partnered with Martin House for the entire year, so please keep an eye out for any events in relation to this great cause. Alternatively, if you would like to contribute a donation and support our fundraising efforts without the need for an event, then please do! You can submit a donation via our JustGiving page at any time.

Everything we raise for these children will benefit them in such a positive way, so thank you to everyone who has donated, or has shared our events with their connections. It all adds up and makes more of a difference than you know. We’re incredibly honoured by the fact that Martin House is helping us to live our mission of “doing something good every day,” and we’d love for you to join us.
